The second annual Pre-Health Conference at Iowa State will take place on February 26th, 2022 from 9 am to 4 pm virtually on Whova. Our goal as students in creating this event is to allow pre-health students the chance to explore a career in healthcare and get the resources they need to prepare for that path. For each session, there will be separate zooms focused for the following tracks: MD/DO, PA, Dentistry, PT, OT. There will also be lunch sessions for Optometry, Podiatry, and Pharmacy.

Session 4, 1-2 pm: Healthcare Student Panel
In this portion of the day, healthcare students from various schools and programs will sit on a panel and talk about their pre-health journey, the application cycle, and what graduate school is like for them. There will be another live, interactive Q&A session for undergraduate students to ask important questions and hear from current students what graduate school is really like.
Session 5, 2-2:50 pm, Anatomy of an Applicant Panel with Healthcare Schools
This session will include a panel discussion with admissions representatives who will give insight into what their school looks for in students, what a good/bad application looks like, what the purpose of the interview is, and what happens if you don’t get in on the first try.
Session 6, 3-4 pm, Pre-Health Fair: Individual School Informational Sessions
This session will give students an opportunity to meet with schools they are interested in and learn more about the programs they offer. This will be a more individualized session so students can get their most important questions answered. Students will be able to come and go to as many different schools and programs as they would like during this time.
